1940, 3rd and Wilcox.  This postcard shows the "Christmas Star at Castlerock, Colo." after a snow.  Kroll Grocery, Van Lopik Drug Store, and numerous automobiles are shown in a well-lit town.  Also visible is the Bank of Douglas County.  In the foreground is a fire hydrant.

Castle Rock was just a landmark

1950 or 1965: 3rd and Wilcox Street, Castle Rock.  This is a reproduction of a postcard, which described Castle Rock as a landmark on highway 85/87 between Denver and Colorado Springs.  Published by the Sanborn Souvenir Company.  The shop signs read "B&B Café" "Bob's Food Market" "Rexall Drug Store" "Rock in Cafe" and "Stricker Gas and Appliance."
